"i could really use any kind of advice concerning comissioned sessions". - That's a tough one, because in my eyes you're doing great with these comissioned shots. And instead of delivering what most others would deliver - shots according to some gospel of a pro photographers book - , you deliver very tasty work rooted more and more in your own style. That goes beyond doing "nice work" for people asking your services.

Every detail in this shot of yours could be open to discussion, of course: the depth of field, the colors, the model placing, the background, etc. But fact is, this shot is close to being perfect. Any disagreement would have to do with personal tastes, and these things can be discussed with no end.

What I like: the colors (I just love this slightly washed out look), the DOF, Magdas smile, her red lips and fingernails, the way she leans pretty relaxed into the wire mesh, the background in brick lane (which seems very busy, but because of the blurryness doesn't take the attention away from Magda).

What I would criticize: a few single hairs of Magda can be seen in the brownish vertical thing in the background. As this distracts a wee bit, I would make use of the stamp tool or whatever comes in handy to get rid of it.

Overall, I think you can very well afford to go by your eye and your feeling for what is required in a certain situation. Technical-wise you're on safe ground. You hardly ever show a weakness there.

But it's good to question yourself anew all the time, because this will make sure that you won't end up copying yourself out of sheer convenience. :-)

when i edited this photo i actually sharpened it so the loose hair strands would stand out (in my mind it suggested fragility) but i think you're right, they dont really fit the mood of the picture, especially since her hair is supposed to be nice and straight. i'll get on to fixing that as quick as i can :D

i guess im confident enough (but not fully) when it comes to the technical stuff, i think it's the communication part that im lacking...im kinda afraid to tell a person ive just met how to pose, because i wouldnt want to sound bossy or rude. that i have to work on.

i can't thank you enough for your comments, really. :)
